TDN SILVER VALUE SIRE 2023

SIRE OF G1 WINNER THE
PLATINUM QUEEN

Cotai Glory is a commercial breeder's dream.

By Champion sire of 2yos and sprinters Exceed And Excel, he was a tough and consistent performer. A winner of the Gr.3 Molecomb Stakes as a 2yo, he trained on to win the Gr.3 World Trophy at three.

He was beaten by just a neck in the Gr.1 King Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot and was placed in multiple Group races worldwide, including the Gr.1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York on two occasions and the Gr.2 Nearctic Stakes at Woodbine.

The champion first-crop sire of 2021, he was quick to prove himself as a stakes sire, with his first crop including the G2 Prix Robert Papin winner ATOMIC FORCE and Coventry Stakes 2nd ELDRICKJONES.

His second crop again put his name in lights, with THE PLATINUM QUEEN becoming the first 2yo since 1978 to win the all-aged G1 Prix de l'Abbaye.

THE PLATINUM QUEEN went on to sell in December for 1,200,000gns to Katsumi Yoshida.

Other current highlights include recent G2 Mill Reef Stakes winner POWERFUL GLORY, a Tally-Ho breezer who is unbeaten for Richard Fahey.

"His star package The Platinum Queen was no fluke. There is some depth to his stakes horses from just two crops to race so far, and he can continue the solid work of his sire Exceed And Excel as a dependable source of good sprinters" - Emma Berry, TDN

"Many of his third crop of yearlings, bred off a fee of just €5,000, returned big profits for breeders" - Weatherbys Bloodstock Sales Review,2022

"She was such a fast horse. She’s one of the best two-year-olds in the world,
and that was attractive to us.”

Shingo Hashimoto, representative of Northern Farm after buying THE PLATINUM QUEEN for 1,200,000gns
