260,000gns filly for Starman

Fresh from siring two early winners, regard for Starman carried over into the ring during the first session of the Tattersalls Craven Sale in Newmarket on Tuesday with the sale of our filly for 260,000gns.

Anthony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock and Phil Cunningham purchased the filly, who is the first foal out of Beignet, a Canford Cliffs half-sister to Listed winner Fig Roll.

Starman has made a quick start to the season with his first two-year-olds notably as the sire of impressive debut winners Lady Iman and Green Sense. Both fillies have Royal Ascot aspirations.

"I bought the filly for Phil Cunningham to go to Richard Spencer," said Anthony Bromley. "I bought 15 colts last year and Phil decided he should have a filly and asked me which was the nicest filly here, we put a couple of fillies up to Richard and we both loved her.

"She was early enough in the sale, but two Starman fillies have already won. I am keen on the stallion, this is a very athletic filly she clocked a good time, and she looks like she is ready to roll. We will see how she will settle into Newmarket life, but you would hope she will be out reasonably soon."
