Ascot aspirations for impressive Starman winner Green Sense

Fresh off the heels of Lady Iman's debut win at Dundalk, Starman supplied another exciting first-crop winner on Saturday in Green Sense.

Racing against colts in the 6f contest, the Joseph O'Brien-trained filly stormed clear for a three-length success in the colours of Simon Munir and Isaac Souede.

“She looks very nice. I’m delighted for Simon and Isaac and for Anthony Bromley, who bought her as a yearling,” said O’Brien.

“She’s a well-bred filly and obviously the sire has had a good start to his career.

“We liked what we saw at home and thought she was ready to run well but didn’t expect her to win like that, I didn’t expect her to win to be honest.

“I thought she would need the run and there was a nice fillies race for her in two weeks time that we’d come back for.

“She’s pretty smart and that’s what the smart ones do. She was really professional and she has a very straightforward attitude.

“You’d imagine she’ll have no problem with seven eventually. The dream is that might be an Ascot filly."

Green Sense was bred by Nicky Hartery out of the Street Sense mare Big Boned, also the dam of Kodiac's Group 3 winner K Club.

Champion sprinter Starman stands for €10,000.
