Burgarita continues Tally-Ho's excellent breeze-up spell

Burgarita ran out the impressive winner of the Listed Prix de la Seine at Longchamp on Sunday to become our second stakes-winning breezer of the week after Yorkshire Cup hero Spanish Mission.

Another, Spycatcher, ran a good second in the Listed Carnarvon Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.

Burgarita was always prominent under Mickael Barzalona and lengthened clear when asked to win well by a length-and-a-half from Natsukashi. The daughter of Sea The Stars is now unbeaten in two starts for Andre Fabre and holds a host of big-race entries, notably the Prix de Diane and Arc.

"I'm very impressed with the way she improved from her first run," Mickael Barzalona told Sky Sports Racing. "She ran still green. I came wide as I thought it would be most suitable for her - the pace was quite slow around the bend - and she responded well.

"She doesn't do much at home. There's plenty to come from her, and I'm sure she can improve and go further if needed."

Burgarita was bred by Dayton Investments (Breeding) Ltd out of Angelita, a member of the deep Wildenstein family of Albertine also responsible for Arcangues. She was purchased for 95,000gns by Tally-Ho Stud as a yearling and resold as a two-year-old to Michael Donohoe of the BBA Ireland on behalf of Ecurie Ama Zingteam.
