Gifted Gold made a striking start to her racing career on Monday when living up to her name to become the latest winner for Galileo Gold at Newcastle.
Held up by Ben Curtis, Gifted Gold made smooth progress up the stands rail to take command a furlong out and win easily going away by a length.
The Karl Burke-trained filly was bred by the La Lumiere Partnership out of their excellent mare Flare Of Light, a Birdstone daughter of Group 1 winner Shiva who previously foaled the high-class 2yo Threat.
Pictured below, she was one of Galileo Gold's more expensive yearlings, selling out of the Ringfort Stud draft for 82,000gns as a Tattersalls October Book 1 yearling to Kelly Burke and co-owner Carl Waters.
Galileo Gold has made an outstanding start to his stud career as the sire of five stakes horses led by the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes hero Ebro River, Group 3 scorer Oscula and Listed winner System. The Classic-winning miler has also been represented by the stakes-placed Hellomydarlin and The Wizard Of Eye.
