In a demonstration of raw speed, Sophie's Star became the latest multiple winner for Cotai Glory at Beverley on Friday with an impressive success.
Previously successful at Thirsk and never out of the frame in five starts for Karl Burke, Sophie's Star was always prominent under Pierre-Louis Jamin and bounded clear when asked to win by four lengths. The Mehmas filly Form Of Praise ran second.
Sophie's Star was bred by co-owner Nick Bradley out of Overheard, a Lope De Vega relation to the high-class sprinters Tax Free and Inxile. She becomes the third winner from as many foals out of the mare.
Thanks to the earners of £175,000, Cotai Glory is Europe's leading first-crop sire. He is the sire of 12 winners overall, among them Group 3 scorer Atomic Force.
