Double Classic success

There was double Classic success for Tally-Ho on Sunday!

Lao Tzu, a Kodiac colt sold by us at last year's Goffs Breeze-Up Sale in Doncaster won the Group 3 Premio Pariolo (Italian 2,000 Guineas) at Capannelle while Yo Mauro, who was bred and sold by us at the 2023 Tattersalls Ireland September Sale, won the Spanish 2,000 Guineas.

Lao Tzu is the 50th Group/Graded stakes winner for Kodiac.

Lao Tzu was ridden prominently pace set by Kabir and with that rival in his sights, ran down that colt to win by a short neck.

His trainer Stefano Botti said: “He is a genuine performer and never missed a beat. I’m very pleased with him. Now we have to do the right thing for him; I don’t know if he could stay the 2200m trip in the Gr.2 Derby Italiano.

Bred by Noel and Jack Finegan, Lao Tzu was purchased by Valfredo Valiani from our draft at the Goffs Breeze-Up Sale at Doncaster. He is out of the Dark Angel mare Bionic Buffy, a half-sister to the Listed winner Red Stars.

Over at Madrid, Yo Mauro won the Spanish 2,000 Guineas for trainer Guillermo Arizkorreta. The Saxon Warrior colt, whose dam Eneza is from the Aga Khan's family Ebaziya family, was bought by his trainer from our draft at the 2023 Tattersalls Ireland September Sale.
