A new stakes winner for Kodiac! American Bridge captured the Group 3 Premio Del Giubileo at San Siro in Italy on Sunday to become yet another stakes winner for leading sire Kodiac.
Jean-Claude Rouget's four-year-old filly stayed on well down the centre of the track to win ears pricked by a widening margin. Now a four-time winner, the progressive American Bridge was bred by Zalim Bifov and carries the colours of Peter Brant's White Birch Farm.
"The filly deserved to win a race of this level," Rouget told JDG. "In France, she can't really express herself as she often runs into races without pace and on ground that is much too soft for her. Today's well-run race helped her a lot and we could see what she is capable of."
She is a half-sister to a winner and out of More Than Sotka, a Listed-winning Dutch Art relation to Titus Livius.
A 67th stakes winner for Kodiac, American Bridge continues another good season for her sire, who was represented earlier in the month by the Commonwealth Cup heroine Campanelle. Sire sons such as Ardad and Kodi Bear are also enjoying an excellent season to further the Kodiac legacy.
