Group 3 success for Cotai Glory filly

Updated: Jul 1, 2022

Cotai Glory added another stakes winner to his growing resume on Thursday when his daughter Bottle Of Bubbles won the Group 3 Premio Primi Passi in the colours of Theresa Marnane at Milan in Italy.

The filly had been the first 2yo winner of the European season back in March when successful at Lyon Parilly. Highly tried since, Bottle Of Bubbles earned her deserved stakes breakthrough on Thursday, travelling well behind the leaders before quickening on the outer to grab the leader and win in cosy fashion.

“She ran a brilliant race when second in a Listed race at Rome and last time she found the 1000m trip too short in the Listed Prix la Fleche," said winning trainer Florian Guyader. "She is a good filly and 1200m is perfect for her. I have entered her in the Prix Robert Papin and if she comes out of the race well she could run in that.”

Bred by Donal Boylan, Bottle Of Bubbles was purchased by Con Marnane out of the Rockton Stud draft at last year's Tattersalls Ireland September Sale and is out of dual winner Somedaysrdiamonds, an Equiano relation to Airwave and Churchill.

With 35 first-crop 2yo winners to his credit, including the runaway Prix Robert Papin winner Atomic Force, Cotai Glory ended last year as Europe's champion first-crop sire. Bottle Of Bubbles becomes his tenth black-type performer.
