Tally-Ho breezer Spycatcher, a son of former Tally-Ho stallion Vadamos, gained another deserved success at Pattern level on Sunday when nosing out James's Delight in the Group 3 Prix de Meautry at Deauville.
A regular campaigner at the top level for Karl Burke, Spycatcher pounced on the near side to win going away under Clifford Lee and land his sixth success - three of which have come at stakes level. He was also only beaten a short head by King Gold when second in last year's Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest.
"I’m delighted with Spycatcher," said Karl Burke. "He looked like his old self today and was given a great ride by Clifford [Lee]," he said. "He loves that soft ground, that’s key to him, he looked in great shape and travelled over well."
Now the winner of nearly £400,000, Spycatcher was bred by us out of Damask, a daughter of former Tally-Ho stallion Red Clubs, and sold through our 2020 Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up draft to John and Jake Warren on behalf of Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.
