Many congratulations to the connections of Hellsing, winner of the Tally-Stud Irish EBF Maiden at the Curragh on Saturday.
The Ger Lyons-trained colt, who is owned by Teme Valley, showed bright speed and battled on well to deny the favourite Congo River.
“Most of the Dandy Mans I’ve had have won first time out,” said Ger Lyon’s. “He’s a horse I like, he was bought with the Goffs Millions in mind. He’s a gorgeous beast and it looks like we have a racehorse on our hands.”
By Dandy Man, Hellsing was bred by Ballygallon Stud out of the Le Havre mare Souzie and bought by Richard Ryan on behalf of Teme Valley for €100,000 as a yearling.
This race boasts an excellent roll of honour that includes Arizona and Gale Force Ten, and we look forward to seeing how this year’s renewal fares.
