Port Lions justified favouritism to run out the impressive winner of the Al Adiyat Racing Cup (Crown Prince Trial) for Fawzi Nass in Bahrain on Friday.
The five-year-old son of Kodiac, who famously defeated Deirdre to win the Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Cup in Saudi Arabia last year, raced away for a daylight win under David Egan to set himself up for a return trip to the Saudi Cup Festival.
Port Lions was bred in Ireland by Diomed Bloodstock out of the Listed-winning Machiavellian mare Cold Cold Woman.
