Listed glory for Democracy Dilemma

Democracy Dilemma backed up a series of creditable efforts with a deserved first stakes success in Saturday's Listed Beverley Bullet Sprint at Beverley to become the latest stakes winner for Cotai Glory.

Trained by Robert Cowell on behalf of Mrs Fitri Hay, the four-year-old was winning for the seventh time in 30 starts and brought his earnings close to £200,000.

"I'm really pleased, he'd been knocking on the door and he's a tough horse to pass once he's got his head in front," said Robert Cowell. "He really wants a flatter track but it was worth the risk and it's lovely to have a stakes winner for the Hays. He might go to Newbury for the Dubai International Airport World Trophy, he'll have a penalty in Listed races now so we have to go for Group races really. He'll have another race or two then probably go to Dubai for the winter."

Democracy Dilemma was bred by Mountarmstrong Stud out of Majestic Alexander, whose Cotai Glory yearling filly made £100,000 to David Evans at this week's Goffs UK Premier Sale. The daughter of Bushranger is also dam of the stakes-placed trio Angel Alexander, Little Earl and Mighty Spirit.
