Seven weeks on from her sale at the Arqana May Breeze-Up Sale and Tally-Ho breezer Lezoo is a stakes winner, having struck in the Listed Empress Stakes at Newbury.
The daughter of Zoustar had made a good impression when winning on debut at Bath for Ralph Beckett and again turned in a smooth performance, quickening clear once in daylight to run down the leader and win going away under Frankie Dettori.
"We bought Lezoo from France about seven weeks ago and she won at Bath a couple of weeks ago," said Jamie McCalmont, racing manager to co- owner Marc Chan. "We didn't really expect her to win so well that day and we came here thinking she had a chance. It was her second start and we'll probably come back here for the Cherry Hinton next."
Lezoo was bred by Chasemore Farm out of Group 3 winner Roger Sez - fittingly a daughter of our former stallion Red Clubs - and was bought by us through Hamish Macauley for 77,000gns out of Book 3 of the Tattersalls October Sale. She was resold through our Arqana May draft for €110,000 to Atlas Bloodstock and races for Marc Chan and Andrew Rosen.
She becomes the latest successful Tally-Ho breezer of the past year. following the likes of Perfect Power, Twilight Jet, Maglev, Spanish Mission and Spycatcher.
