Gray's Inn answered every call to come out on top over 5f in class 2 company at Musselburgh on Saturday and become the latest winner from the first crop of Inns Of Court.
The Ollie Pears-trained filly ran a good second on debut to the Tally-Ho-sold Hala Emaraaty at Ripon last month and made no mistake this time, showing a bright turn of foot to take command on the outer and hold on for a cosy success over the colt Ponga.
Owned by Crystal Clear Racing, Gray's Inn was bred by Rathasker Stud out of Syamantaka, a Clodovil half-sister to Group 2 winner Diamilina and the high-class miler Diamond Green.
Inns Of Court's first 2yos have been well received at the breeze-up sales this season, with progeny selling 165,000gns, €160,000, £135,000 etc. The son of Invincible Spirit stands for €5,000.
