The progressive Golden Warrior ran out a determined winner of the 6f novice race at Nottingham on Tuesday to become the latest winner for leading first-crop sire Cotai Glory.
A promising fourth on his debut at Newmarket, Golden Warrior showed bright pace throughout under Rossa Ryan and battled on well to deny the previous winner Helvetique.
Bred by Austin Curran, Golden Warrior was a Tally-Ho pinhook and ultimately sold to trainer Charlie Hills as a Goffs UK breezer. He is the first foal out of the New Approach mare Jayla, a relation to the outstanding mare Time Charter.
Golden Warrior becomes the 23rd winner for Europe's leading first-crop sire Cotai Glory. Responsible for the earners of approximately £330,000, his runners include the brilliant Group 2 Prix Robert Papin winner Atomic Force and the stakes-placed Eldrickjones, Dig Two and Sophie's Star.
