Fresh off Powerful Glory's win in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury, Cotai Glory was back in the news again on Monday, this time courtesy of Rebel Diamond in the Listed Blenheim Stakes at Fairyhouse.
Bidding to make it three in a row in the 6f contest for trainer Natalia Lupini, Rebel Diamond was always travelling well for Billy Lee and showed a fine turn of foot to quicken past the leader Easy Mover and win with authority.
Tally-Ho bred One Smack Mac, a Kodiac colt out of Khaimah making his second start., stayed on well to fill the runner-up spot.
"He had a few good runs on better ground at Leopardstown and it was just showing what he can do on that type of ground," said Billy Lee. "We went a good pace. I sat being Leigh Roche on his heels, and my lad travelled strong and took me into the race. I could have actually done with a lead for a bit longer but he's profressional now and he was just doing enough in front. There's a bit more to come."
Rebel Diamond was bred by Funcheon Bloodstock out of Periwinkle, a Teofilo daughter of Royal Blue Star.
