Many congratulations to Mrs M V Magnier, Mrs Paul Shanahan and T V Magnier on the success of Shandy in the Group 3 Tally-Ho Stud Irish EBF Ballyogan Stakes at Naas on Sunday.
We were delighted to sponsor this prestigious 6f Group 3 event and it produced a thrilling finish with Shandy getting up on the near side under an enterprising ride from Andrew Slattery to score by a nose over Firebird, the pair split by the width of the track.
Trained by Fozzy Stack, the Starspangledbanner filly Shandy was bred by Airlie Stud out of Sandtail, a Verglas half-sister to Group 1 winner Zafisio.
We were also delighted to sponsor the following race, the Persian Force at Tally-Ho Handicap. The 5f handicap was won emphatically by Seamus O'Donnell's mare Theriverrunsdeep, who was winning for the sixth time.
