Many thanks to everyone who supported us at the Goffs Premier Sale this week in Doncaster. We were delighted to sell each of our 27 yearlings offered - headed by our Twilight Son colt sold for £160,000 to James Tate - and we wish everyone the best of luck with their purchases.
It was a strong sale for Mehmas, who had 18 yearlings sell for an average of £64,723. They included three six-figure lots led by our colt out of Pale Orchid, who made £145,000 to Highflyer Bloodstock and Phil Cunningham.
"We've got three so far today," said Anthony Bromley. "Two-year-olds and fast ones, that's the plan. Mehmas was on our wish list if we could get one. This looked like the archetypal Mehmas--all square, good bum on him, walks well, speedy family and the dam has had a good record. She was fast and there are some good ratings out of the dam.
"It just ticked all the boxes apart from the fact he was getting expensive! I don't normally spend that high but he was a proper two-year-old type and we really hope he can do well for Phil. Excited."
Alex Elliott and Billy Jackson-Stops also combined to pay £95,000 for our colt out of Lady Aria while Creighton Schwartz Bloodstock went to £145,000 for Baroda Stud's colt out of She's Different.
Kodiac's 19-strong draft included our colts out of Symbol Of Love, who sold for £100,000 to Keatley Racing, and Peronism, who sold for £95,000 to Ted Durcan.
A terrific sale for Cotai Glory was led by the sale of our filly out of Terrifically for £100,000 to Mean Lloyd, LDS and Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners. With others - a filly out of Parisian Chic and colts out of Havasu and Lahabah - also making £70,000, £65,000 and £55,000 to Richard and Peter Fahey and G. S. Bloodstock, Cotai Glory ended the sale with an average of almost £50,000 - off a €5,000 fee.
Alice Fitzgerald also sold her Inns Of Court filly out of Quiza for £46,000.
We wish everyone the best of luck with their purchases and we look forward to seeing you at the Tattersalls Somerville Sale.
