A highly successful Arqana August Sale closed in style for Kodiac on Tuesday when he accounted for the V2 sale-topper, a colt out of Rainbow Vale who was sold for €200,000.
Arthur Hoyeau, acting for the Windfield Colt Partnership, signed the ticket on the colt, who was sold by Haras de la Louviere and is a half-brother to the Listed winner Prince Lancelot.
“He’s been bought for a partnership, which wants to invest in colts," said Hoyeau. "He will stay in France for the moment and we will decide later on his trainer; he could go into training in France or in England."
Kodiac ended the sale as leading sire by both aggregate and average (€115,000).
Mehmas also enjoyed a good sale courtesy of a colt out of Dawilia, who was sold by Haras de l'Hotellerie for €100,000 to Meridian International, and a filly out of Fraiha, who was sold by Haras de Castillon for €95,000 to Henri Devin.
Kodiac also returned an average of €170,833 in the select yearling sale while Mehmas checked in at €142,500.
